The Silence of the Wood

Migthy the trees rush

Humans and animals hide away

When the forest moans and the branches crack

The groan is old

For the trees talked to us once

We listened and some understood the word

We harked and some responded to it

An exchange in wood language

And the humans got scared

The power of the trees seemed creepy

To loud their clear voice

And so they beat their axes in the wood

Until not a tree was left

Warily the forest makes contact again

Tries and observes the human

Patiently

Do you hear his speech?
